Matt Chapman Hit In Head, Stays In Game
4 years agoOakland A’s third baseman Matt Chapman was hit in the head by a 91 mph fastball in the fourth inning of Tuesday’s game. Chapman stayed in the game, so it seems as though he’s avoided a significant injury and a trip to the injured list. Chapman has enjoyed a productive season so far this year, taking a .858 OPS into Tuesday’s game. Interestingly, Chapman has traded strikeouts (31% strikeout rate) for power (.607 xSLG) so far this season, but it’s a tradeoff that hasn’t hurt his batting average much and boosts his fantasy value in points leagues.
