Matt Bush Returns To Texas
1 year agoThe Texas Rangers signed free-agent relief pitcher Matt Bush to a minor-league deal earlier this week. Bush spent the first four and a half years of his big-league career with the Rangers before being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers last summer. He was released by Milwaukee earlier this year after posting a terrible 9.58 ERA (9.38 FIP), 1.64 WHIP, six walks and 10 strikeouts in 10 1/3 relief innings over 12 appearances for the Brew Crew. The 37-year-old will join Double-A Frisco and will provide Texas with some relief depth, but it remains to be seen if he'll make his way back to the big leagues. In 211 career innings over 217 appearances (six starts), Bush has a 3.75 ERA (4.20 FIP), 1.20 WHIP, 15 saves and 227 strikeouts.
