6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that running back Matt Breida (ankle) will not play in Week 14 against the Broncos. It will be Breida's first missed game since his freshman year of high school. Breida had been playing hurt for much of the year and aggravated his ankle in pregame warmups on Sunday, which caused him to touch the ball just eight times in the blowout loss to the Seahawks. With Breida hobbled on Sunday, rookie Jeffery Wilson operated as the lead back, accruing 15 carries for 61 yards and eight catches for 73 yards in garbage time. Wilson has RB3/flex appeal in deeper leagues. Expect Alfred Morris to be the change-of-pace back against Denver.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
