Matt Breida Primed For Increased Workload
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida was a full participant in Thursday’s practice and appears to be approaching full health. Despite dealing with myriad injuries this season, Breida has dominated snaps in the Niners backfield and is tallying a robust 5.5 YPC. With Raheem Mostert (arm) on IR, Breida is in line for a heavy workload in Week 10 against the New York Giants. The 49ers offensive line ranks ninth-best in adjusted line yards and should provide ample running opportunities against a weak Giants defense. While Breida will share touches with Alfred Morris and Kyle Juszczyk, he’s clearly the most capable every-down option. Breida is safe to fire up as a borderline RB2 in Week 10.
