Matt Breida Considers Resting Ailing Ankle
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida (ankle) admitted he may need time off after Week 7’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Breida has rarely been healthy this year and was receiving treatment intermittently on his ailing ankle throughout the game. He wound up with only 15 yards on five touches. While Breida’s been able to practice on a limited basis and suited up each week, it may make sense for the team to rest him. Fourth-year back Raheem Mostert has been effective spelling Breida, accumulating 165 yards on 23 touches over the past two games. For Breida fantasy owners and teams looking for RB depth, Mostert is the most appealing option. He should be a popular waiver candidate this week.
