3 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Matt Beaty (shoulder) was held out of Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins due to a shoulder injury. He first sustained the injury during Saturday's game while diving for a ball. Following Saturday's game, Padres manager Bob Melvin discussed Beaty, stating, "They're working on him right now, but it was obviously enough to where he had to come out of the game, so that's not a great sign." Beaty has seen a good amount of playing time in May, mostly due to the absence of Wil Myers (thumb).
