Matt Barnes Looks Elite Against Detroit
4 years agoBoston Red Sox reliever Matt Barnes continued his dominant start by recording the final five outs against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. The effort earned him the save in the 11-7 victory. Barnes faced the minimum while striking out one. He now owns an impressive 2.25 ERA and 0.56 WHIP on the season to go along with his seven saves. Boston's impressive start is owed in no small part to the backend of their bullpen, with Barnes having yet to blow a save and only allowing a hit in four of his first 15 appearances. Moving forward, the Red Sox should continue to deploy Barnes in nearly all saves situations, and his fantasy managers should continue to reap the rewards.
