Matt Barnes Earns First Save On Tuesday
4 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Barnes recorded his first save of the year in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins. Barnes pitched a clean ninth inning, allowing no hits or walks while striking out one. Barnes has been fantastic so far this season, but this was his first save opportunity as the team has won by too big of a margin through the majority of their current seven-game win streak. Barnes has made five appearances this year so far and has pitched six innings, allowing no hits and one walk while striking out 12. He looks to be the clear closer on the team and could have be a dominant fantasy closer if the Red Sox continue winning games.
