Masyn Winn Expected To Miss A Few Games
5 hours agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn (back) won't go on the injured list but is expected to miss a few games due to back spasms. Winn was removed from Friday's game early against the Philadelphia Phillies in the second inning and did not return. The 23-year-old has been dealing with a back issue for a few weeks and will need some time off to recover. Winn is off to a slow start, slashing .222/.314/.289 with a home run, three RBI, and eight runs over 13 games. He is considered day-to-day. Thomas Saggese shifted from second base to shortstop, while Yohel Pozo replaced him in Friday's win over the Phillies and went 2-for-4 with two runs and two strikeouts. Saggese should see an uptick in playing time with Winn sidelined and is hitting .467 (7-for-15) with a home run over five games. The 23-year-old is a speculative add in deep leagues while swinging a hot bat for fantasy managers searching for middle infield help.
