Mason Miller Throws Bullpen Session
1 year agoOakland Athletics rookie right-hander Mason Miller (elbow) was able to throw a 20-pitch bullpen session at Oracle Park on Wednesday. Miller advanced to throwing a bullpen after throwing on flat ground again over the weekend, and he's getting closer to returning from a UCL sprain that he suffered in early May. The 24-year-old was impressive in his first four major-league starts for the A's before going on the shelf, so he should get another extended look in the rotation to close out the second half of the year once he returns. In his four starts, Miller posted a 3.38 ERA (3.10 FIP), 0.98 WHIP, seven walks and 22 strikeouts over 21 1/3 innings pitched. He could be ready to start a minor-league rehab assignment before long.
