Mason Miller Throws A Bullpen On Tuesday
4 months agoOakland Athletics closer Mason Miller (finger) said he threw a bullpen session on Tuesday but isn't sure how long he'll need to recover. "I'm extremely disappointed about it. It's never some place you want to end up, on the IL, especially when it's something of your own fault," Miller said. Miller fractured the pinkie finger on his left (non-throwing) hand last week when he slammed his hand down in frustration on a training table. The 25-year-old flamethrowing reliever shouldn't be out long but he doesn't have a current timetable for a return. The first-time All-Star in 2024 is the club's unquestioned closer when healthy after recording the first 15 saves of his career, and he needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats. With the A's trading late-inning reliever Lucas Erceg to the Royals on Tuesday, Tyler Ferguson now appears to be first in line for save chances until Miller is reinstated from the IL.
