Mason Miller Likely To Need One More Rehab Outing
1 year agoOakland Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that rookie right-hander Mason Miller (elbow) was fine after his 29-pitch outing on Tuesday, but he will likely need one more minor-league rehab outing for Triple-A Las Vegas before rejoining the major-league roster. Miller was touching triple digits with his fastball in his one scoreless inning of work on Tuesday for Vegas while striking out three batters in 29 pitches. The 25-year-old hard-throwing hurler will look to stretch his arm out even more in what is likely to be his final rehab appearances before joining the A's rotation down the stretch. Miller is attempting to return from a UCL sprain and has been out since early May. Just because he's in Oakland doesn't mean fantasy managers should ignore him. Before the injury, he had allowed eight earned runs on 14 hits (one homer) while walking seven and fanning 22 in 21 1/3 frames in his first four major-league starts.
