5 months agoDallas Stars left wing Mason Marchment (undisclosed) could be back in action against Winnipeg on Saturday. An undisclosed injury kept Marchment out from Thursday's battle with Chicago, but he was on the ice for practice on Friday. The 29-year-old power forward has not disappointed fantasy managers in 2024-25, recording eight points (two goals, six assists) and 25 hits in 11 appearances. Marchment's return would push Oskar Back out of the lineup, while Sam Steel will have to settle for a fourth-line role.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoAccording to Lia Assimakopoulos of the Dallas News, Dallas Stars left wing Mason Marchment (face) is hoping to return before the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 29-year-old has been sidelined since the end of December due to a facial injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as the Stars have five games before the international break. While he has been sidelined, Evgenii Dadonov was promoted to the top-six. While Marchment did not tally a point over his previous seven games before the injury, he was enjoying a nice stretch prior to this. Over his previous 14 contests before his seven-game scoreless streak, Marchment tallied an impressive 19 points (10 goals, nine points) with a +8 rating. Fantasy managers should expect Marchment to return to a top-six role when he is cleared for action.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

3 months agoDallas Stars left wing Mason Marchment (face) will be absent for an extended period after undergoing surgery. Marchment was recently hit in the face by a puck, and a surgical intervention was needed to address fractures in his nose and facial area. The team expects Marchment to recover in four weeks. He is roughly a week and a half into the recovery period. Marchment has been highly impactful with the Stars in 2024-25, recording 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) and 44 hits. Jamie Benn has hopped on the second line during his absence. The Stars captain has been very productive in the role, scoring in three consecutive games and notching six points (four goals, two assists) in five contests.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoDallas Stars left wing Mason Marchment (face) is considered week-to-week. He's set to miss multiple games after getting hit in the face by a puck on Friday versus Minnesota. His absence will start on Sunday against Chicago, with Justin Hryckowian called up from the AHL to replace Marchment in the lineup. Hryckowian has been on fire in the minors, posting 12 goals and 26 points in 27 outings. He will join the third line on Sunday, allowing Jamie Benn to move to the second. Benn has already enjoyed a prolific run recently, and he will have even more fantasy value in a top-six role, with Dallas' top scorer Matt Duchene playing next to him.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoDallas Stars left wing Mason Marchment (face) was taken to a hospital after a puck hit him in Friday's matchup against Minnesota. Marchment exited Friday's contest early when he was hit in the face by a puck during Dallas' power play. He was bleeding heavily as he was assisted off the ice. "It wasn't pretty," Stars head coach Peter DeBoer said postgame. "He's OK, but I don't know how long (he'll be out)." Marchment has gone seven games without any points but remains among the Stars' top scorers. In 33 outings, Marchment has posted 12 goals and 27 points. The 29-year-old is also tied for second on the team with 44 hits. With Marchment absent, Jamie Benn worked on the second line during Saturday's practice.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
