Two-time Japanese batting champion and outfielder Masataka Yoshida is likely to be posted by the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball in the next two weeks, according to sources. Details are still being discussed, but it's becoming increasingly likely that he will play next year in the United States. In seven seasons in Japan, the 29-year-old outfielder hit .326/.419/.538 with 135 home runs over 781 games. If he doesn't come to an agreement with a major-league team 30 days after he's posted, he'd return to Japan and wouldn't be eligible to be posted again until 2024. If available, Yoshida will be an interesting free-agent outfielder for clubs to pursue this winter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
