6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka will start Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the Red Sox on Saturday. Tanaka went 12-6 for the Yanks this year with a 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 9.2 K/9 across 27 starts. His problems come with the long ball, as he allowed 1.4 per nine innings this year. The Red Sox like to hit a lot of homers, too, so that could be a problem. The Japanese right-hander didn't fare well against Boston this year either, allowing 29 hits (six homers) and 16 earned runs in 19 innings (7.58 ERA).
