Masahiro Tanaka Shaky In Return From Injury
Masahiro Tanaka made his return to the New York Yankees Tuesday night at Camden Yards. Taking on the Baltimore Orioles, the 29-year-old wasn’t very effective, lasting just 4 1/3 innings and allowing three runs on six hits. He walked two, struck out five and allowed a key home run in the fifth inning that tied the game. The performance was a continuation of Tanaka’s form from before the injury, as he was earning victories but not pitching effectively. With the Orioles being one of the worst teams in baseball, he’ll likely not face an easier challenge as the season progresses.
