Martin Truex Jr. Only Okay In Final Round Of Qualifying
1 year agoMartin Truex Jr. looked okay in the final round of qualifying on Saturday at Richmond Raceway. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was performing well but ended up tenth with a lap 0.225 seconds behind Tyler Reddick. He wound up only the fifth fastest Toyota overall. Truex Jr. leads the point standings and has three wins on the season. His consistency in 2023 stands in stark contrast to 2022. Only Kyle Larson has more top five results (nine) and only Kyle Busch has more top ten's (12). Truex Jr. has led 56 or more laps in four of the past five appearances at Richmond and won in 2021. Keep that in mind for Sunday.
