1 year agoMartin Truex Jr. needs a strong result at Bristol on Saturday night and probably some help. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver started with 36 bonus points in the NASCAR playoffs. He is now seven points below the cutline entering the Bass Pro Shops Night Race. On the bright side, Truex Jr. qualified fifth. Race segment speed seemed to tail off a bit as the No. 19 car dropped to tenth. However, if runs are a little shorter at times, that could help.
