Martin Truex Jr. Looking To Sweep Martinsville
4 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Martin Truex Jr. will start from the second position in Sunday's Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. After receiving a 20-point pre-race penalty and finishing second to JGR teammate, Kyle Busch, at Texas, Truex is in a must-win situation to advance to the championship race at Phoenix. There was a time where Truex struggled on short tracks, but he has flipped the script in the last couple of years, especially at Martinsville. Truex has won the last two races at the half-mile paperclip, including a dominant run in last year's fall race, where he went on to lead a whopping 464 of the 500 laps. While not as dominant in June, Truex led the final 131 laps to collect his only Cup Series win of the 2020 season. Truex's DFS salary is at the top of the charts, creating a dilemma for players. Truex is considered a favorite and is capable of putting in another dominant performance, but choosing him will hamper the remainder of lineup selections.
