Martin Truex Jr. Has Quite An Afternoon
1 year agoMartin Truex Jr. qualified fifth at Michigan International Speedway for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400. Also, there was the good news of a one-year extension signed by the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. That will put to rest any retirement talk. The No. 19 car has been excellent all season, leads NASCAR in points, and has three wins in 2023. Truex Jr. has placed inside the top ten in his last four races on the two-mile track. Despite running near the front often, Truex Jr. has never won at Michigan despite several close calls.
