Martin Truex Jr. Cuts Tire, Falls Out Of Contention At Bristol
4 years agoMartin Truex Jr. had one of the dominant race cars of the day on Monday. He led a race-high 126 laps and took Stage 1 at the Food City Dirt Race. Truex Jr. turned in several fastest laps. He was still in the top-five at the end of the race when the Joe Gibbs Racing driver cut a tire of all things. Truex Jr. dropped to 19th as a result. After winning the truck race earlier in the afternoon, he was expected to contend, and contend he did until the end.
