Martin Truex Jr. Aging Like A Fine Wine In Sonoma Win
2 years agoNASCAR Cup Series veteran Martin Truex Jr. dominated at Sonoma for his second win of the 2023 season. He led a race-high 51 of 100 laps and held off runner-up Kyle Busch to win the Toyota/Save Mart 350 by 2.979 seconds. The win was his 33rd career victory and was a vast improvement over his 26th-place finish last season here at Sonoma Raceway. "Hats off to my team," said Truex, who did not find victory lane at all in 2022. "To be so bad here last year and to come back and do that with the same car basically, it's really unbelievable. Just proud of them." The victory now gives him four wins at this track, second only to Jeff Gordon, who has five wins over this track's history.
