Martin Necas Picks Up A Short-Handed Goal
4 years agoCarolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas opened the scoring in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to Chicago as he lit the lamp in a short-handed situation 9:49 into the opening period. Jani Hakanpaa collected the lone assist. Necas scored in a third consecutive game, and he now has 14 markers and 41 points for the season in 51 outings. The talented forward has produced 108 shots and 43 hits while carrying an outstanding plus-27 rating. Leon Draisaitl is the only forward in the league with a better mark (plus-31). Necas and the Hurricanes complete the season with a pair of games against Nashville, hoping to win the Presidents' Trophy for the best regular-season record.
