Martin Jones Succumbs To Late New Jersey Wave Sunday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones stood tall in net for two-plus periods on Sunday, allowing just a couple of goals. That included a second period where New Jersey had 13 high-danger scoring chances. Then Andreas Johnsson and Jesper Bratt happened again. It was their second connection that made the game 3-2 in favor of New Jersey. Jones never fully recovered, and neither did Philadelphia. Nathan Bastian would add his second goal of the season just a bit over two minutes later. Jones allowed four goals on 34 shots Sunday. Philadelphia next plays Wednesday against the Rangers, and Carter Hart will start.
