Marquez Valdes-Scantling A Borderline Starting Option Against Detroit
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a borderline starting wide receiver for fantasy owners in his matchup against the Detroit Lions. Valdes-Scantling struggled in the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys when he drew coverage as the primary receiving option. The Detroit Lions have given up an average of just 20.7 points to the position so far this season, and he could be shadowed by cornerback Darius Slay if Davante Adams (toe) doesn't play. Valdes-Scantling has been a deep threat all season and could find himself in space if he is given the opportunity. If Adams does make it onto the field, Valdes-Scantling should only be considered as a deep league flex, at best. If Adams doesn't end up playing, then he has WR3 value with a potentially low floor. Valdes-Scantling's status should also be monitored as he was recently added to the Week 6 injury report with hamstring and calf injuries.
