MarQueis Gray Put On IR, Gavin Escobar Signs
6 years agoThe Miami Dolphins placed tight end MarQueis Gray (Achilles) on Injured Reserve on Thursday and re-signed tight end Gavin Escobar in a corresponding move. Gray was set to be the team's starting tight end, but he reportedly suffered a serious injury in practice on Wednesday. It's unclear if he'll be able to make it back at all this year. Escobar had 30 catches for 333 yards (11.1 yards per catch) and eight touchdowns in 64 career games and seven starts for the Cowboys. AJ Derby and Mike Gesicki will be the top two tight ends now, but the rookie Gesicki will be the one with fantasy relevance, mainly as a red-zone weapon for quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
