Marlon Vera Has Hopes Of Derailing The Sugar Hype Train
4 years agoMarlon Vera (17-6-1) has his eye set on derailing the hype train known as Sean O'Malley. Chito has been a part of the UFC since 2014 and will need to channel the Vera from his five-fight winning streak, which was snapped after losing his last bout, to pull this one out. Vera averages 3.70 significant strikes per minute, with 85% of those coming while standing up or in the clinch. A very important note is that 10 of his 17 wins have come by submission. Vera's only hope of stealing this bout is to somehow get O'Malley to the mat and submit him. DraftKings does not see that happening and has Vera listed as their lowest-priced fighter at $7,000. He has an average of 71.6 points per contest. During his five-fight winning streak, he did not score fewer than 85 points.
