Marlins Sign Janson Junk To Minor-League Deal
1 min agoAccording to the team, the Miami Marlins have signed right-handed pitcher Janson Junk to a minor-league contract. He is also being invited to spring training. Junk has only seen limited work in the majors over the past three seasons. Last summer, Junk logged just eight innings in the majors and held a 14.63 ERA with a 3.25 WHIP. During the 2023 season, he logged seven 1/3 innings of work and allowed four earned runs. Last season, he pitched 60 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level and held a 3.58 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP. He struck out 54 batters and served up 21 free passes. Fantasy managers should expect Junk to compete for a low-leverage role in the Miami bullpen during spring training. However, given his struggles last season, he will likely open the season with Triple-A Jacksonville.
