Marlins Send Sandy Alcantara, Braxton Lee To Minors
7 years agoThe Miami Marlins sent top pitching prospect Sandy Alcantara and outfielder Braxton Lee to minor league camp on Tuesday. Alcantara, who came over from the Cardinals in the trade involving Marcell Ozuna, will report to Triple-A. Alcantara impressed in camp and could join the Marlins rotation sooner than later, according to manager Don Mattingly. The Marlins can also delay Alcantara's eligibility for salary arbitration if they keep him in the minors until sometime in May. Lee won the Double-A batting title in 2017 and will move to Triple-A for the first time this season. Alcantara should be stashed if possible in dynasty/keeper leagues, and he could become relevant in deeper mixed leagues later this year. Lee is more of a watch-list guy in dynasty formats.
