2 years agoThe Miami Marlins placed starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (biceps) on the 15-day injured list and infielder Joey Wendle (intercostal) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Cueto is dealing with right biceps tightness after leaving his start early on Monday, while Wendle is sidelined with a right intercostal strain. Pitchers Braxton Garrett and Daniel Castano, second baseman Garrett Hampson have been recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville, while pitcher Jeff Lindgren was designated for assignment. With the 37-year-old Cueto on the shelf, Garrett could slide into his place in Miami's starting rotation. Wendle could miss the rest of April, depending on how he recovers.
