1 year agoThe Miami Marlins are among the teams looking at Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger as the Aug. 1 trade deadline quickly approaches. However, the Cubs have a better chance of reaching the postseason than the Marlins due, according to the latest Baseball Reference projections. It remains to be seen if the Cubs will even be sellers at this point as they currently stand six games out of the National League Central lead behind the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds. They are five games out of a wild-card spot. Bellinger, a former MVP and Rookie of the Year, has had a resurgence in Chicago in 2023, hitting .314/.363/.540 with a .903 OPS, 14 home runs, 15 doubles, a triple, 45 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 53 runs scored in 69 games.
