Marlins Inviting Albert Almora Jr. To Spring Training
1 day agoAccording to Francys Romero, the Miami Marlins are inviting outfielder Albert Almora Jr. to spring training as a non-roster invite. Almora has not appeared in the major leagues since 2022. The former No.6 overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft began his career with the Chicago and was a part of their World Series Championship in 2016. Across his first four seasons, Almora held a .274/.311/.403 line. However, from 2020 through 2022, the outfielder saw his production decline sharply as he held a .199/.258/.303 slash line. He spent the entire 2024 campaign with the Reno Aces at the Triple-A level. Across 127 contests, Almora posted a solid .292/.349/.438 slash line with 45 doubles, nine home runs, and 20 stolen bases. Almora will compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster but will likely open the campaign at the Triple-A level, given his lack of recent major league experience.
