Marlins Hopeful Jazz Chisholm Jr. Will Only Need Short IL Stint
4 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday that the team is hopeful second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hamstring) will only require a short stay on the injured list, according to Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald. The decision to place Chisholm on the IL was described as precautionary, with the move being made in light of how a similar situation went earlier this season while catcher Jorge Alfaro was dealing with a hamstring injury. Chisholm has exploded onto the fantasy scene as one of the hot prospects in the game, slashing .290/.375/.551 with four home runs, seven steals, seven RBI and 11 runs scored in 21 games. Managers will cross their fingers that Chisholm can return to their lineups by the end of next week.
