Marlins Continue To Talk With Yuli Gurriel
2 years agoThe Miami Marlins continue to talk with free-agent first baseman Yuli Gurriel, according to sources. If they were to sign him, it would likely be a minor-league deal with an invitation to big-league spring training. Gurriel remains on the open market a year after slashing .242/.288/.360 with a career-low .647 OPS, eight home runs, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored and career-high eight stolen bases in 584 plate appearances and 146 games for the Houston Astros. The 38-year-old also sprained his right MCL in the World Series, although he should be fully healthy for Opening Day this year. Gurriel can handle himself defensively at first base, but his offensive skills are in decline and he's unlikely to be very attractive in fantasy if he lands in Miami.
