Marlins Claim Matt Moore Off Waivers From Guardians
1 year agoThe Miami Marlins claimed left-handed reliever Matt Moore off waivers from the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, according to sources. The Guardians claimed Moore off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels earlier this month, but now he's on the move again. Moore won't be postseason-eligible if the Marlins end up winning the final wild-card spot in the National League. The 34-year-old veteran southpaw could surely give Miami's bullpen a boost down the stretch, though, as he's gone 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 48 2/3 relief innings this year for the Angels and Guardians. He wasn't as good in his five outings out of the bullpen for the Guardians, allowing two earned runs while striking out eight in 4 2/3 frames.
