Mark Vientos Returns To Mets Lineup
14 seconds agoNew York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos (groin) is back at third base and is batting cleanup for Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Cristopher Sanchez at Citi Field. Vientos injured his groin on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals and missed two games as a result, but he'll return for Game 2 of the series against the Phils and will be looking to break out of his early-season slump at the plate. The 25-year-old comes into Tuesday's game hitting just .167 (12-for-72) with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs and 14 strikeouts in 20 games played. He's also gone hitless in seven career at-bats against Sanchez, who has looked very sharp early on in 2025, so we'd suggest that fantasy managers keep Vientos on the bench for at least another day. Before going hitless on Saturday, though, Vientos had a six-game hitting streak, including both of his home runs.
