Mark Melancon Grabs His 29th Save
3 years agoSan Diego Padres relief pitcher Mark Melancon picked up his 29th save of the year Thursday, throwing a clean inning to secure a 3-2 victory over the Miami Marlins. He struck out one batter. This was his second one-two-three outing after two more difficult appearances. His job appears to be quite secure, as he leads the league in the saves category by a wide margin. Melancon has been a revelation this season for fantasy managers, with his only downside being a limited strikeout rate as he's whiffed only 35 batters in 42 innings this year.
