6 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Mark Melancon (forearm) could be activated from the disabled list Friday. Melancon has thrown 3 2/3 innings of scoreless ball during his rehab assignment. Manager Bruce Bochy had mentioned a few weeks ago that Hunter Strickland would remain the club’s closer and Melancon would be eased into high-leverage situations. Strickland has a firm grip on the closer gig as of now, making Melancon a better option on waiver wires than fantasy teams. However, Melancon might be worth scooping up in deeper leagues if you're desperate for saves or if you own Strickland.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
