Mark Ingram II Turns 26 Touches Into 85 Yards, Touchdown
3 years agoHouston Texans running back Mark Ingram II carried the ball a whopping 26 times for 85 yards and a rushing touchdown in Sunday's 37-21 win over the Jaguars. In one of the biggest surprises, Ingram handled a monster workload, totaling 26 of his team's 41 carries, though he plodded to a 3.3 yards per carry average. With an early lead, Ingram was the beneficiary of a positive game script. It's impossible to count on Ingram as an upside option given that he shares the backfield with Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson, but his heavy usage shows he's the most favored back by the coaching staff heading into Week 2. Ingram is worth flex consideration in Week 2 against the Browns, though keep in mind that Houston is unlikely to see such a positive game script again, which could limit the veteran's opportunities.
