Mark Canha Joins Brewers On Minor-League Deal
53 seconds agoFree-agent veteran outfielder Mark Canha signed a minor-league deal with an invitation to major-league spring training on Saturday with the Milwaukee Brewers, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Canha will join an already crowded outfield group in Milwaukee after splitting the 2024 season with the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants. In a combined 125 games played, Canha slashed .242/.344/.346 with a below-average .690 OPS, seven home runs, 42 RBI, seven stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 462 plate appearances. The 36-year-old was also traded to the St. Louis Cardinals but sprained his right thumb late in the year and didn't play at all for them. At best, Canha will probably be on the weak side of a platoon in Milwaukee if he manages to make the big-league roster. Canha's plate discipline has always been his strong suit, but as a long shot for an everyday role, he'll have limited fantasy upside, if any at all.
