Mark Canha Hopes To Be Full-Go By Friday
4 months agoThe Detroit Tigers have no immediate plans to put first baseman/outfielder Mark Canha (wrist) on the 10-day injured list. Canha said he's going to rest and do treatment during the All-Star break next week and hopes to be a full-go on Friday for the start of the second half of the season against the Toronto Blue Jays. Wrist soreness forced Canha out of Saturday's game against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers early, and the 35-year-old veteran will not play in Sunday's series finale. His injury comes at a good time with the All-Star break coming next week, so hopefully he will not need to miss any more time beyond Sunday's game. Canha will end the first half in his first year in Motown with a .228/.334/.341 slash line, six home runs, 34 RBI, four steals and 36 runs scored in 84 games played.
