New York Mets outfielder Mark Canha went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and an additional run scored in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals. He took Steve Cishek deep in the ninth inning for his second long ball of the season. The 33-year-old is slashing .313/.376/.398 with two home runs, 12 RBI, and 10 runs over 24 games in 2022. Canha continues to be a solid option for fantasy managers in 2022 and should be rostered in all league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

Kansas City Royals outfielder Mark Canha was removed in the top of the sixth inning after colliding with the wall in an attempt to make a catch earlier in the game. He didn't exit the game immediately so the injury isn't likely to be extremely serious, but there's no indication yet on what the injury may be. The veteran is 5-for-17 on the season as the short side of a platoon, as he has historically been much more productive against lefties than righties.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBaller

The Kansas City Royals acquired outfielder Mark Canha from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations, sources tell MLB.com's Anne Rogers. Milwaukee ships the veteran outfielder to the American League Central after he was unlikely to make their Opening Day roster out of spring training. The 36-year-old veteran went just 2-for-23 with two RBI and four runs scored in nine Cactus League games. Canha will be off the fantasy radar in all mixed leagues, but he'll provide the Royals with some outfield depth to open the regular season. The former seventh-round pick by the Florida Marlins back in 2010 out of the University of California -- Berkeley has 10 years of major-league experience. He hit .242/.344/.346 with seven homers, 42 RBI and seven steals in 125 games with the Tigers and Giants in 2024.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Mark Canha is expected to see most of his time as a first baseman and a designated hitter. Canha signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers last week and was invited to spring training. Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted that Canha could also be deployed off the bench as a pinch-hitter. The 36-year-old has spent most of his 10-year MLB career in the outfield but is slated to shift to the infield in Milwaukee. Last season, Canha spent time with the Tigers and Giants and held a .242/.344/.346 line with 20 doubles and seven home runs. If Canha performs well in the camp, he could earn a role operating as the No. 2 first baseman behind Rhys Hoskins or as a designated hitter in a platoon role.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Free-agent veteran outfielder Mark Canha signed a minor-league deal with an invitation to major-league spring training on Saturday with the Milwaukee Brewers, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Canha will join an already crowded outfield group in Milwaukee after splitting the 2024 season with the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants. In a combined 125 games played, Canha slashed .242/.344/.346 with a below-average .690 OPS, seven home runs, 42 RBI, seven stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 462 plate appearances. The 36-year-old was also traded to the St. Louis Cardinals but sprained his right thumb late in the year and didn't play at all for them. At best, Canha will probably be on the weak side of a platoon in Milwaukee if he manages to make the big-league roster. Canha's plate discipline has always been his strong suit, but as a long shot for an everyday role, he'll have limited fantasy upside, if any at all.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
