Mariners Release Justus Sheffield Thursday
2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners released former prospect Justus Sheffield on Thursday after he was removed from the 40-man roster during the offseason. He hasn't pitched in the big leagues yet in 2023. Over 8 1/3 innings in Triple-A this year, he owns a 14.04 ERA with four strikeouts and 11 walks. After the Cleveland Guardians drafted Sheffield in the first round of the 2014 draft, the 26-year-old never put it all together and posted a 5.47 ERA across 186 career innings. This move has no relevance to fantasy baseball, and fantasy managers can probably ignore it if he latches on with another organization.
