Mariners Not Motivated To Move Kyle Seager
6 years agoThe Mariners remain open for business on first baseman Carlos Santana and starting pitcher Mike Leake, but teams that have checked in on him say the Mariners are not motivated to trade third baseman Kyle Seager. His value is obviously down after struggling to a .221/.273/.400 slash line with 22 home runs and 78 RBI in 583 at-bats in 2018. Seager is now 31 and had a career-high 30 home runs in 2016 and has reached the 20-homer mark in every season except for his rookie one in 2011. Still, his real-life and fantasy stock is way down heading into 2019. Making matters worse, Seattle's lineup won't be nearly as good after their fire sale.
