Mariners Manager Non-Committal On Closer Role
5 years agoSeattle Mariners manager Scott Servais revealed that there would not be a closer, at least to start the season. While the skipper indicated that different pitchers would be called upon to close on a game-to-game basis, several names have been rumored to claim the permanent role, including Matt Magill, Sam Tuivailala, Erik Swanson, and Yoshihisa Hirano. With the Mariners expected to have one of the worst records in the league, there may not be many save opportunities to go around regardless.
