Marcus Walden Blows Save
6 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Marcus Walden blew the save opportunity in a 4-3 game on Wednesday. With the Red Sox struggling to find anyone who can lock down the ninth, the situation isn’t ideal for fantasy managers. Even Matt Barnes, who has been great so far, let up an eighth inning home run to Justin Smoak. At this point, he’s the only one worth owning for the strikeouts and ratios. You have to wonder if GM Dave Dombrowski will continue to accept what this bullpen is doing to a very talented team. Fantasy managers (and Sox fans) everywhere would love to see Craig Kimbrel back in Boston, however, that reunion still seems unlikely. Avoid this situation for now.
