Marcus Stroman With Quality Start On Tuesday
3 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman went seven strong innings in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Giants on Tuesday night. Stroman allowed just three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine. It was another wasted performance from Stroman who has been a consistent fantasy producer this year despite a rough string of starts in late June and early July. Stroman's record fell to 8-12 on the season, despite owning a 2.84 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 123 strikeouts in 139 1/3 innings pitched over 25 starts. If he just had average offensive support behind him, his record would likely be inverted and he would be approaching a 12-to-15 win season. Unfortunately, wins will be hard to come by for Stroman through the remainder of the season with a Mets offense that is struggling to get any runs on the board. That said, Stroman should continue to help fantasy owners with excellent ratios, a decent number of strikeouts and quality starts in leagues that reward that counting statistic. Stroman should remain active in all fantasy formats.
