Marcus Smart Out 3-5 Weeks
1 year agoAccording to NBA insider Shams Charania, Memphis Grizzlies guard Marcus Smart (foot) will be sidelined for three-to-five weeks. The 29-year-old was traded to Memphis in the offseason and has averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in 11 appearances. Unfortunately, he suffered a sprained left foot during Tuesday's meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers, so the Grizzlies will now be without another top backcourt option. That said, Derrick Rose (knee) is expected back soon, potentially for Saturday's contest against the Spurs. However, Jacob Gilyard, averaging 9.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 45.0% from deep in three starts, should fill the void left by Smart's absence.
