Marcus Semien Powers Texas To Victory
1 year agoTexas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien went 2-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, a walk, and a stolen base in a 12-0 shutout victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. This game was no contest as Texas dismantled Patrick Sandoval and the Halos. Semien did his part, driving in Robbie Grossman with an RBI single in the bottom of the second before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 4-0. He did his real damage in the bottom of the seventh inning after the game was all but over when he smashed a three-run homer off Griffin Canning. Semien has been a top-five second baseman since the beginning of the season and is showing no signs of stopping at the dish. Overall, the 32-year-old is slashing .283/.354/.470 with 19 home runs, 77 RBI, and 11 stolen bases over 492 at-bats.
