Marcus Semien Hits Two-Run Homer Sunday
4 years agoOakland Athletics shortstop Marcus Semien launched his third homer of the season in a win over the Giants Sunday. Semien went just 1-for-5 in the 15-run outburst, but he made the hit count by taking Derek Rodriguez deep in the fifth inning. Semien is batting just .216 on the season, but has shown signs of life lately as he's riding a five-game hit-streak. Semien finished third in AL-MVP voting last season by posting career-highs in home runs (33), runs scored (123), and OPS (.892). He posted a double-digit walk rate which is ideal for a leadoff hitter and he is locked-in atop one of baseball's best lineups. Fantasy owners should continue to start Semien as things should improve for him moving forward.
